Does the Full Over Full Bunk Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring full size mattresses (also known as double size mattresses). For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Full Over Full Bunk Bed. In fact, we recommend not using one to avoid wasting valuable headspace.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the bunk bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your Full Over Full Bunk Bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. For $35, we can build a ladder that only extends 6” from the bed frame. You can request these custom ladder options in the Notes section during checkout.What are the dimensions of the staircase?

This bed is solid. Aesthetically it looks beautiful and is everything I hoped it would be. My only complaints come from a few nit picky items. The wood supports for the beds are excellent, except the larger end pieces. The ends are cut so that the piece that is inserted into the bed is the same as the others and the rest of the board floats. This board wobbles intensely. The mattress does mostly hold it down, but a removing the notch and just having the larger board fit within the frame would have resulted in a more solid feeling construction. Additionally, the bed came with a few minor scratches where the finish is missing. I am going to inquire if there is touch-up paint available as this would solve this issue for me. These two items are really minor and don't make me regret my long and deliberated decision to purchase this amazing bunk bed.

I bought a queen bunk and it is fine now...however, the only reason that it is not a 5 star review is because when it was initially installed it wasn't very sturdy. I called customer service and they sent me 8 reinforcement braces and it solved the problem (it does require drilling into the frame). If you order a bed, I would order the reinforcement braces.
