Does the Full Over Full Bunk Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring full size mattresses (also known as double size mattresses). For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Full Over Full Bunk Bed. In fact, we recommend not using one to avoid wasting valuable headspace.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the bunk bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your Full Over Full Bunk Bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. The bunk beds look awesome but, they are rickety. When I called for a fix, they were ready for this and offered corner bracing which looks tacky when installed. I opted to find corner bracing on amazon. I painted them and put them in place with rivnuts. They look much nicer. The tacs they provide to fasten the cloth underneath the top bunk cannot be used. They will bend before you can push them into the wood. I opted for a nail tack that I found on amazon and they worked much better. Finally, the directions to assemble the bed are poor. They need to include pictures and more steps. Overall, I'm still happy with the purchase but, if you don't install two braces on each corner, the bed wiggles like crazy. Be ready for these issues, as you will run into them.

Very satisfied with these bunk beds. I order queen over queen in grey to be used in our vacation condo. These are engineered to hold actual adults and as far as I could tell there is nothing else comparable on the market. These are not cheap in cost but are well built and I fully expect them to stand up to the test of time. Note that the slats are wood 2x4 's which was not clear at order. I was quite confused when the first few boxes I opened all contained wood. Maybe I just missed this online but was definitely unclear to me at least so take note. Took several hours to unpackage/build but was fairly straight forward. My only complaint was there was substantial sway on the top bunk post assembly. This was a major concern for me as the beds are in a small cutout room to the side of our upstairs loft so if someone were to fall getting out of the top bunk they could possibly clear the railing and end up an entire floor below (ouch). I reached out to Sales to inquire on getting some of the cross beams used on the loft style beds for to rectify this. I was given some instruction on squaring with a ratchet strap and offered corner braces. I went as far as to completely disassemble and rebuild ratcheting down in and attempt to square it better to no avail. However once the corner braces were delivered and installed this solved the sway issue entirely for me. I do not recall corner braces being presented as an option online so you may need to specifically request them at time or order. In my opinion the corner braces are a must so I would suggest the manufacturer up the price and just include them. Would rate this 5 stars if the braces had been included from the get go. All in all I would recommend this product (just make sure you get the corners) and won't hesitate to order again if we should find a need for another bunkbed in the future.

Everything from ordering,shipping and communication was great. The bed arrived and looked nice once assembled. Just one thing I recommend you do...I believe it would be wise to include corner support braces as a standard part of these beds. It was wobbly prior to receiving and installing the braces. Once braces were installed all was perfect. Bed felt solid and sturdy. My husband is a mechanical engineer so he has good ability to assemble things. I don’t believe it had anything to do with how he put it together especially since the holes are all predrilled for assembly... it is what it is... so again, please start including these braces for people as part of the kit to avoid this problem and all will be well! I very much appreciate being sent the braces we needed, free of charge, as I feel the bed should have come with them anyway. It was mentioned other people had had the same issues. At the price point paid, again, just start throwing these in with the set and you shouldn’t have any frustrated customers. Also, thank you for sending along some touch up paint with the braces. We hope to get many years use out of the king bunk and would purchase from your company again because of good customer service, good communication and a good product.

I found Francis Lofts & Bunks when I did an internet search for adult bunk beds. We bought 2 Queen Over Queen Bunk Beds from them for our beach house.
