Does the Full Over Full Bunk Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring full size mattresses (also known as double size mattresses). For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Full Over Full Bunk Bed. In fact, we recommend not using one to avoid wasting valuable headspace.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the bunk bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your Full Over Full Bunk Bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. The quality and look of the bunk beds is superb and you will NOT find anything like them. Every person that sees the beds comments on how great it looks!! On the flip side, I have struggled with the squeaks and the movement of the frame when the kids climb into the top bunk. It really was unfortunate for the amount of $$ spent on this to have to deal with it. I did contact Jeffie there and explained the situation, and she gave me a few options and also sent out additional frame supports to hopefully mitigate this frustration. I do really appreciate the customer support with this. I will definitely let them know once installed if the problem is solved or persists.

The reason for the 4 star review was that when someone laying in the other bunk moves, the beds shake and do not feel as sturdy as I would hope for the cost and material. I wonder if there’s additional options for stabilizing the bed against the wall so that it is not so unstable when people move or climb into the bed? Also, the assembly is the pits. I really wish the company would provide assembly help options, even if it were for a price, I would buy it! We missed inserting one of the shelves and in order to put it on, we need to disassemble the entire bunk which is incredibly tedious. At this price point of furniture, assembly help really should be offered. Thanks!

I was able to assemble the bunk bed by myself, although I don't recommend it. It takes some heavy-duty balancing when attaching the frames together and laying in the bed boards. But I'm not marking the bed down 1 star for that. When I finished the assembly the bead head was about 5 inches from the wall. There was no mention in the instructions that the bed head (or foot) had to be flush against the wall. When I climbed onto the top queen bed, the queen bed moved about 1/2 to 1 inch. This much movement was uncomfortable to me so I found 2 foam five-inch pillows and wedged them between the end pillars and the wall. This stabilized the top queen. Had the instructions warned me to make the end pillars flush against the wall so the top bed wouldn't move, I wouldn't have two five-inch pillows wedged between bed and wall. Otherwise, the bunk bed is fine and strong.
