Our Full XL Loft Beds do not automatically ship with a mattress, but any commercially available extra long full size innerspring mattress will fit the bed frame. We recommend a mattress with a thickness of 8-12 inches. Our loft beds do not require a box spring, but for memory foam mattresses, we do recommend using a piece of wood to create a flat service or adding extra slats. We can include a 1/8” thick masonite board with your order for $95 or additional slats for $95. Please request these options in the Special Instructions section during checkout.
We do sell our own memory foam mattresses that can be purchased with your bed. Like our bed frames, every 10-inch mattress is custom made to order. You can choose from five different firmness settings to match your preference, and the interior layers of the mattress are not glued together, so they can be moved around to configure the most comfortable arrangement for you or your guests. This can even include having a different arrangement on each side of the mattress.
Mattresses can be added to your order as Accessories when you’re building your bed, or purchased separately here.
Please note that our mattresses ordered as Accessories are automatically shipped with Medium firmness, but you can request a different firmness option in the Special Instructions section at checkout.

Please note that any bed that is ordered outside of a standard height, length, or width offered on our online bed builder is considered “custom.”
If you plan on putting your ladder or staircase on the “long side” of the bed frame and would like a half-sized side rail for easier access, we can make one for a $75 customization fee. Click here to see an example.

OMG. I still can't believe that I finally have a loft bed in my bedroom! My boyfriend and I made the decision to buy a loft bed the moment we moved to our new bedroom. Because I have a set of e-drum and we have lots of photography equipments, making it extremely hard for us to organize the room if we chose a normal queen bed. We've checked all options on IKEA, Wayfair and Amazon, but barely found any loft bed that is designed for adult let alone two adults and most of them has a weight limit around 250 lb. From reviews of those products, many people complained that the bed is too shaky while climbing, which reminds me of an unpleasant experience of sleeping on a loft bed during my stay at an airbnb --- every time I want to change my position on the bed, the bed starts to shake along with some noises. I barely slept that night. :( So the plan got stuck, and I was so upset. However, things got changed one week later: we found Francis Lofts & Bunks while searching randomly online. I was impressed by the description: loft bed for adult, featuring 2000 pound weight capacity. That's exactly what I've been looking for!!!! Though we've hesitated for a while due to its high price($2000+ is not a small number) and shipping fees, we finally made the decision since there's no other good options. We were so excited to receive five huge packages several weeks later. There’re several worn surface on the stick, might due to shipping, but no impact on the function. The installation process is not difficult but the instruction is a bit confusing. It would be better if there’s a video online that we can clearly see and easily follow those steps. It took us (two to three people) around 3 hrs to full set it up. After installation it requires several adjustments to completely stop the bed from shaking. We are pretty satisfied with the final result. The bed looks extremely cool especially after I put my drum set under it. Our friends are so jealous!!! I would give 95 out of 100 for this loft bed. Highly recommend.

It is so well made, so sturdy, strong and looks incredible. Jeffie was so responsive and the website was extremely easy to use. The only negative was that one of the long metal sides of the bed had a big gash in it but I suspect that was because of the shipping company. Luckily it was the side that is now facing the wall and is hidden from view, so it wasn't an issue in the end. This would be a 5 star review but for some two minor-ish issues. First, the bed is awesome; perfect height, clearly very well made and most importantly, it's surprisingly easy to make the bed each morning. We got a few accessories; some were a hit and others not. The bookshelf and side shelf are great; they go well with the bed and were easy to incorporate. We also got the book shelf steps which are either wood or a composite and they came damaged twice, which was annoying, but my big pet peeve is for the cost I see the nail heads. The other, again, kind of minor annoyance is the fabric used to cover the wood slates that provide the horizontal support; it was not a good quality and getting it on was a pain because it was too short. I just scrapped it and order something that I like better to customize it. Again, overall, great, but at this price point there should be some higher end specs on some of the items.

Overall a great buy. Sturdy and *fairly* easy to assemble. Some pieces came pre-scratched and had to ask for touch-up paint. Either improve QC, better shipping packaging, or just include the touch-up paint with the shipment. Assembly instructions need work guys. Almost an after thought. Spend the money and get new ones printed with quality photos. Not a mix mash of new and old and crossed off and stickers. Also get a youtube video of the assembly process for heaven's sake.
