Does the Queen Loft Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring queen size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Queen Loft Bed. In fact, we recommend not using on to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the loft bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the Queen Loft Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the loft bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your loft bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. The product is sleek, modern, and rock solid. Everything fits together tight and is easy to assemble. We wanted to get my young son furniture he would not grow out of or be able to destroy. He hangs and swings from the loft and does pull ups. The loft does not budge. If a tornado gives our neighborhood a visit I would not hesitate to take refuge beneath this loft. The product was fine, but the metal does scratch really easily. Also, it took a lot of time to put together. Finally, the metal ladder is really hard on bare feet... it's painful getting up and down. For the price paid, I should have just gotten one from ikea or had one made of wood. You are WAAAYY over priced. I'm trying to sell mine now on Craigslist because it turns out it was too tall for my room (too easy to hit my head on the ceiling) and was painful getting up and down out of that ladder. I'm having a lot of trouble selling it 2nd hand even for $500. I feel like I wasted more than $1000 when I should have just bought a smaller real bed or had a wooden queen loft made for $300.
