Does the Queen Loft Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring queen size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Queen Loft Bed. In fact, we recommend not using on to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the loft bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the Queen Loft Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the loft bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your loft bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. For $30, we can build a ladder that only extends 6” from the bed frame. You can request these custom ladder options in the Notes section during checkout.What are the dimensions of the staircase?

I've had this bed for over a year now and I can't believe it's been that long! It still looks and feels brand new. I scratched it while assembling it but I can't find the scratch now and I have managed with very little effort to not damage it over the year since. I chose white and it blends really nicely with the walls, too. It was pretty easy to assemble with the help of a friend. This is mainly because items are bulky. It didn't otherwise require special strength and was no more complicated to assemble than a bed frame from IKEA. Simpler, actually, due to the video and clearly marked components. As a California native my first concern with loft beds is EARTHQUAKES. I chose this bed for its safety. The construction of this loft bed resembles our Bay Area bridges, it should flex but not break during an earthquake, which is ideal. From daily use I have never so much as seen or heard it budge. It doesn't creak, it doesn't move, it is solid as a rock! I feel more concerned about my cat or myself falling off due to our own stupidity than from an earthquake. But the bed rails are VERY sturdy and I have never had a problem or cause for concern. This should last as many years as I need it. I purchased the tallest option to place a home office underneath. This has worked really well. I am nearly 6' tall and I can enter and exit by tilting my head. It definitely took some getting used to but, once in the office area, I have plenty of headroom and it feels quite separate and spacious. This bed has transformed my tiny apartment into a functional space and I don't know how I survived without it. My only concern is taking it with me to my next home!

It provided so much more space in our room ,the staircase with cubbies was a perfect addition for storage! And our loft bed is so cozy I love it! We made a cool gaming/nail station under the bed. Everyone thinks it's so cool! The bed is sturdy and strong. It was easy to build, we found the instructional video on YouTube. This was a big purchase! But I guess I can say it was worth it. Two things I would say that I didn't like was the customer service because the communication wasn't that great. Some responses were delayed even though they read my message, and the attitude wasn't right as if they were annoyed that I was asking questions (it's a big purchase, of course I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing) and the delivery process was weird. They tell you the boxes have to be in the house within 30 minutes and if the delivery guy is there more than that, you get charged...so weird! It's only one delivery guy, with heavy boxes, how could you time that? Poor guy was lucky I wasn't the only one there to help bring the boxes in, but it's so weird to time that and charge someone to bring heavy boxes inside within a certain timeframe. Also they tell you to book a 5 hr window of an appointment but show up late. I waited all day for the bed to get it LATE and build it before going to work. Crazy. Other than that, I love my bed!

Always wanted a loft bed, looked up some top rated ones and lo, Francis Lofts & Bunks appeared! Overall this bed is fantastic. Slats are 2x4's so I'm not going ANYWHERE which is awesome, and the metal frame keeps me sturdy while tossing and turning. It can hold enough weight for my fat *** and my girlfriend, and like I said, the stability makes sure we really enjoy every second in bed. Would be five stars, however the metal bookcase headboard is super wobbly, I assume if I had heavier books or more stuff on there then it might stop wobbling as much, but as is with my bed right against the base boards it wakes up the neighbors by bouncing against the wall, which isn't the greatest. In the end, I highly recommend this bed, maybe just stick with the side table instead though.

The bed is very nice and I am totally happy with the sturdiness and the overall design. The pillows are not as comfortable as I like, but I bought new ones. I prefer pillows that are soft but have a bounce too. I love the bed. Delivery was a bit stressful, hence the 4 stars. They came with a giant truck after I talked to them.on the phone about using a smaller truck because it is a residential DC area where there is no.parking for that size. I feel they should pay attention I to the request but they didn't. I had to find some street cones to have it temporarily parked but it could have easily gotten a ticket for blocking the neighbors. But thankfully, no one complained and no parking cops came about. The two guys who helped install are nice, but it seem like they are not as experienced because they asked if there is a missing piece, which is something I wouldn't know about. But eventually they found the piece and everything worked out. But it was stressful, and I thought a white glove delivery would provide a more seamless installation. Overall, it was too big a deal in hindsight. I am happy with the loft bed, which free my studio space. I do wish there were less stress about the delivery, parking and install I shouldn't have to manage them. Happy with the product, just not the white glove service. Thank you.

Well, I love everything about it: style, quality, how perfectly solid it is and feels and more. I put it together all on my own, as the precision placement of holes and nuts was spot on. I know it was on the pricey side, but I am glad I went with it. Since I work from home, I wanted a way to maximize my small bedroom/office space and I am able to get my new desk, 49"" Samsung Curved screen monitor, with 2 24"" monitors on each end and file cabinet under the bed and works perfect. I found and purchased a bench from VEVORE that is only about 20"" deep and fits exactly between both leg posts on the opposite end of my computer desk, it is so perfect that people think that it was custom-made and came with the bed. I like the quality of the latter, but I am 60 and latter climbing is not for me, and any step options always had one crawling into bed from the foot of the bed, not for me. So I built my own steps and deck along the back length of the bed rather than the width, so now I have a wood topped milk crate (purchase brand new on Amazon for about $400) which were black also, and matches the bed perfect, and now I just climb comfortable steps to a long deck and climb in bed as if I was still on the floor. I tried for years to purchase a loft bed with such a step-up deck, but no one understood what I was trying to accomplish. They wanted to give someone an adult loft bed, but still getting in and out like a child. There is no other bed like this on the market that I saw that even came close to this bed, I was not crazy about the cost, but the perfect quality and the solid this bed is and was very well planned out, I can not imagine any other bed that would be so solid even placed against a wall and this one is solid standing on its own. So in my case, this was perfect for me and I find it well worth the cost for a superior built bed. I do love the lighter weight aluminum frame and the coating is perfect.
