Does the King Loft Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring king size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the King Loft Bed. In fact, we recommend not using one to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the loft bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the King Loft Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the loft bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your loft bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. I searched and searched for a reputable company for my boys’ loft bed. I have two teenagers and one is tall and the other one is a restless sleeper. They have to share a room in my condo, so the loft bed not making noise was a must plus it had to fit a 6ft tall kiddo. We love their Twin XL loft. It makes zero noise even though I have vinyl flooring that clicks like crazy just with footsteps. It is also incredibly sturdy and light. I did put it together by myself, although it would have been much easier with another person to help! I ordered the stairs and we like those too, but they aren’t as sturdy as the loft bed. We have nicked them every way to Sunday. They are also very heavy for one person. Let me go back to how much we love our loft bed though - couldn’t have been happier with it! Thank you thank you!
