Does the Full Loft Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring full size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Full Loft Bed. In fact, we recommend not using one to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the loft bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the Full Loft Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the loft bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your Full Loft Bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. For $35, we can build a ladder that only extends 6” from the bed frame. You can request these custom ladder options in the Notes section during checkout.What are the dimensions of the staircase?

I love my loft bed and wish I had bought it sooner. I live in a small apartment but the price and location are right so I wanted to make it work better for working from home 3-4 days a week. My desk fits perfectly underneath and since I was able to get the 10’ ceiling height I am able to just barely walk under it (I’m 5’2”). It’s cozier and quieter than my living room/kitchen, especially with the mattress above. I got the staircase since I’m 50 and really didn’t want to go up and down a ladder. The staircase works and looks great, provides lots of storage space, and my cats are able to get up and down easily. My cats love being up there feeling like royalty up top looking down on their kingdom below and playing and hanging out on the stairs. The whole thing is very sturdy and comfortable and I sleep well being up above the windows and lights of my electronics. I got help dragging the boxes into my yard from where the truck driver left my pallet of goodies and with getting my mattress up on top but otherwise managed to put it together myself (but I recommend getting a friend to help if you aren’t as stubborn as me). I have a full mattress but will upgrade to a queen next time around so got a queen loft. This allows me 5” of extra space on the side for storage and on the end. I highly recommend this loft if you have a small space and want to create a cozy new space! I’m very pleased with my charcoal metal loft but if the wooden version had been out when I made my purchase I may have gone with that. Either way it’s great!
