Does the Queen Over King L-Shaped Bunk Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most queen-size and king-size innerspring mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Queen Over King L-Shaped Bunk Bed. In fact, we recommend not using one to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the top bunk bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the top bunk of the Queen Over King L-Shaped Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the bunk bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your Queen Over King L-Shaped Bunk Bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. For the price you expect great quality, and they definitely delivered! The install video was extremely helpful and I’m so glad they took the time to do it. Everything about it is sturdy and great quality. The only thing I wished was there was a slightly easier or different alternative for the mesh under the loft bed.
