Does the Florida King Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring Florida King-size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.We also sell two versions of our custom-made Florida King mattresses. The foam-based Grand Slumber and the foam-coil Grand Slumber Hybrid. Both are available as Accessories with your Alaskan King Bed.
Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Florida King Bed.How do you make the fabric headboard? We use the same aluminum as the bed frame to construct the headboard frame. This frame supports a piece of plywood wrapped in foam. The whole headboard is then covered in the fabric option of your choice. You can easily remove the fabric when you need to wash it.
Where can I get Florida King-size bedding? We sell Florida King bedding right here on our website. You can add it to your order as an Accessory while designing your bed. Just look for “Bedding” beneath the customization options.
Are these beds easy to take apart if they need to be moved? Yes. Our beds are simple to disassemble and reassemble. The high-quality materials won’t lose integrity, even after many moves or rebuilds. And because they’re made from lightweight aluminum, they’re easy to transport. Just be sure to hold on to your hardware.
Can you build custom size platform beds?
We can build Platform Beds to any custom dimensions within reason. If the size that you’re looking for isn’t available on our website, you can contact us directly with your request. There is a customization fee of $75, plus $40 per foot.Can I see physical samples of your materials and painted finishes?

To say that we are satisfied with our Francis Lofts & Bunks standard queen bed would be an understatement! After deciding it was time to upgrade, my husband and I wanted something that looked nice but was sturdy enough to last us years to come. This bed is that and more!! It arrived by UPS and was manageable enough to move that the petite UPS delivery lady was able to bring it up to our doorstep without assistance. I carried the boxes inside and my husband (who is not very mechanical) was able to assemble the entire frame in under 30 minutes using the tools and instructions provided. Initially we thought there would be a little bit of “give” to the bed as we have both slept on many different frames during our lives, but this is just as solid as stated in the reviews. Plus I was able to chose the headboard fabric that matches our decorations and the white paint finish which looks pristine. We absolutely love Francis Lofts and Bunks!
