Does the Twin Loft Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring twin-size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Twin Loft Bed. In fact, we recommend not using one to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the loft bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the Twin Loft Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the loft bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your Twin Loft Bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. We love this bed. It is exactly as I ordered it. If I were to start over and order again,I would make sure to add all the rivet holes in case I want to reconfigure later, I would have ordered the taller one, and I would have bought the Twin XL. I ended up moving to a different side of the room. I wish the ladder was a bit wider. When you climb up the sides extend upwards, so it can be awkward. However, it also works as a safety feature so you don’t go off the end. And we love this loft… it’s strong, easy to put together, the color is amazing. I would absolutely recommend this bed for a child or an adult.

I searched and searched for a reputable company for my boys’ loft bed. I have two teenagers and one is tall and the other one is a restless sleeper.
