Does the King Loft Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring king size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the King Loft Bed. In fact, we recommend not using on to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the loft bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the King Loft Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the loft bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your loft bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. The only thing that I am not fully in love with is the black fabric that is used to cover the wood slats. I feel that something else could be used to make it better. The fabric has to be constantly tucked to keep it up on the metal portion of the loft bed. Overall it's a huge hit, son loves it, something that we/he will have forever.
