Does the Queen Over Queen Bunk Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring queen size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Queen Over Queen Bunk Bed. In fact, we recommend not using on to avoid wasting valuable headspace.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the bunk bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your bunk bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. For $30, we can build a ladder that only extends 6” from the bed frame. You can request these custom ladder options in the Notes section during checkout.What are the dimensions of the staircase?

The Queen Over Queen Adult Bunk Bed in white is just beautiful. We love it. The quality is amazing. The only issues was the $400 white glove delivery and sit up was very bad. The two delivery men worked on figuring out how to put it together for an 1 1/2 hrs, they had the packing and hardware strewn all over, my husband had to coordinate and help put it together. I truly should have been reimbursed for the white glove set-up.

We purchased these bunks for a small vacation home- wanting to maximize space for our young adult children and friends. Frances Lofts and Bunks was by far, the best option to allow for maximum weight capacity, solid with a sleek, clean design I was looking for. Living in Canada, this was an international purchase with a hefty price tag following exchange and shipping....so, I was very concerned about the final product. We had a bit of a glitch with delivery that FL&B was quick and willing to manage- so thankful for Jeffie- she is just amazing! I'm a 49 yr old mom with decent mechanical reasoning and was able to build these bunks on my own. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT!! The process would be very easy with two people. Although the instructions advised not to use a power drill, I did- carefully. There are a lot of heavy bolts that would take forever to twist in manually. I found the directions very difficult to read- the print was very small and they'd been packed with the hardware which smudged the ink a bit. However, following the online instructional video was wonderful-- they take you through the building process step by step! These bunks are so sturdy. Although there is a bit of wiggle when climbing to the top bunk- there is no safety concerns at all. They are SOLID! Excellent framework and design. If you're looking for a bunk you can trust anyone to sleep on - you will not be disappointed in these- they are 110% worth the investment!! Thank you FL&B!!

We also bought a Twin XL Bunk Bed. These are great for adults and kids. They are made of solid material. The reason for the 4 star review was that when someone laying in the other bunk moves, the beds shake and do not feel as sturdy as I would hope for the cost and material. I wonder if there’s additional options for stabilizing the bed against the wall so that it is not so unstable when people move or climb into the bed? Also, the assembly is the pits. I really wish the company would provide assembly help options, even if it were for a price, I would buy it! We missed inserting one of the shelves and in order to put it on, we need to disassemble the entire bunk which is incredibly tedious. At this price point of furniture, assembly help really should be offered. Thanks!
